Project Description:
The Access to Artistic Excellence program is to encourage and support artistic excellence, preserve our cultural heritage, and provide access to the arts for all Americans. This category supports projects that provide short-term arts exposure or arts appreciation for children and youth as well as intergenerational education projects. Each area within the NEA has its own requirements and funding objectives. Please visit the NEA website listed below for additional information.
Eligibility:
UW-Madison may submit one proposal from a UW department. *Organizations besides departments within UW-Madison can be considered independent organizations and thus more than 1 proposal from UW-Madison is a possibility.

Internal Competition Application Instructions:
Notice of intent: Send an email message to gsgrants@bascom.wisc.edu with "NEA Access" in the subject line by Monday, June 15, 2009 to inform us of your intention to submit a proposal. Please include the following in your email message:
--name of PI
--brief 2-3 sentence purpose statement
PIs will be notified if an internal competition needs to be held.
Applications are due at NEA by Thursday, August 13, 2009.
Applications must be submitted electronically.
