Notification of intent to submit is due on Friday, March 20, 2009.
Project Description:
This program is intended to focus on the preservation of jobs in the arts. Projects are limited to salary support, partial or full, for one or more positions that are critical to an organization's artistic mission and that are in jeopardy or have been eliminated as a result of the current economic climate AND/OR fees for previously engaged artists and/or contractual personnel to maintain or expand the period during which such persons would be engaged. Organizations may submit grants in the amount of $25,000 OR $50,000.
Eligibility:
UW-Madison may submit one proposal. *Note that some organizations within UW-Madison may be considered independent organizations and thus more than 1 proposal from UW-Madison is a possibility.

Internal Competition Application Instructions:
Notice of intent: Send an email message to gsgrants@bascom.wisc.edu with "NEA & ARRA " in the subject line by Friday, March 20, 2009 to inform us of your intention to submit a proposal. Please include the following in your email message:
--name of PI
--brief 2-3 sentence purpose statement
PIs will be notified if an internal competition needs to be held.
Applications are due at NEA by Thursday, April 2, 2009.
Applications must be submitted electronically.
