Project Description:
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has issued an announcement of a program designed to support the hiring of newly-recruited faculty to develop research projects within the context of Biomedical Core Centers. The following costs are not allowable under this program: salary and administrative support for the PI, salary support for teaching, clinical or other non-research activities, recruitment expenses, construction or renovation of laboratory or office. All proposals must be addressed to a specific Institute or as a Bioethics Core Center. Several aspects of this program vary by Institute. The institute differences are summarized below:

Eligibility:
UW-Madison is limited in the number of proposals that can be submitted depending on the institute. (See table above for specific limitations)

Notice of intent: Send an email message to gsgrants@bascom.wisc.edu with "NIH Core Center" in the subject line by Monday, April 20, 2009 with your letter of intent to the NIH. Please include the information specifically requested by NIH including the name of the institute that will review the proposal.
