Project Description:
The Science and Technology Centers (STC): Integrative Partnerships program supports innovative, potentially transformative, complex research and education projects that require large-scale, long-term awards. STC investments support the NSF vision of advancing discovery, innovation and education beyond the frontiers of current knowledge, and empowering future generations in science and engineering. Awards will range from $1,500,000 to $5,000,000 per year.
Eligibility:
UW-Madison may submit three preliminary proposals. The Graduate School will convene an ad hoc committee to review the proposals internally and select the projects to be forwarded to NSF.

Internal Competition Instructions:

Nomination Instructions - Please email the name of the names and departments of the PI and Co-PIs, and a 1-2 sentence description of your proposed project to gsgrants@bascom.wisc.edu by July 21. PIs will be notified if an application for internal competition needs to be submitted.
Application Instructions:
The following information should be submitted for final review: Project description of 4-5 pages in length should include information about the following: rationale for center concept, proposed leadership and management plan for center activities, integrative nature of proposed center, research objectives, education plans, diversity activities, knowledge transfer objectives, and broader impacts. A budget is not required for the internal competition. Five copies of the project description should be submitted to the Graduate School Dean's Office, 333 Bascom Hall, by Monday, July 28, 4:30 p.m. Applications should include a cover sheet with complete contact information for the PI, and names and departments of the Co-PIs.
For the project selected, the complete preliminary proposal must be submitted using FastLane or Grants.gov (see the campus procedure posted on the RSP Web site).
