Newsletter |
The HS IRBs issue a monthly newsletter that including updates on changes to policies and procedures, information regarding the new electronic review system (ARROW), and tips and reminders for making the review process smoother. The newsletter is only available by subscribing to the HS IRBs listserv (see below for instructions). |
Listservs |
The HS IRBs host two separate listservs: one for general updates and announcements (including the newsletter), and one for people who use Western IRB (WIRB). The HS IRBs listserv provides the research community with useful information about upcoming changes and tips for how to best utilize the new processes. Anyone can subscribe to the listserv. To receive listserv announcements, you MUST subscribe to the listserv by emailing join-hs_irbs_announcements@lists.wisc.edu. The WIRB listserv is for those who would like updates about the WIRB submissions process. If you would like to receive updates about WIRB, please email submitwirb@medicine.wisc.edu requesting to be put on the list. |
Asktheirb Email |
The HS IRBs are piloting a new email address for general questions: asktheirb@medicine.wisc.edu. This account is monitored daily by IRB staff members. Please note that this service is for general questions ONLY. Do not send attachments to asktheirb. Submissions must still be sent to irbreview@medicine.wisc.edu. Questions regarding a specific submission already under review should be directed to the staff reviewer identified on any correspondence or email. Turnaround time for responses to asktheirb emails will range from 1-2 days for simple queries to up to 5 business days for more complex issues. |
HS IRBs Point of Contact |
An IRB staff member is on duty each business day to answer questions. Please contact the main HS IRBs office at 263-2362 to be connected to the point of contact. Please note that IRB staff do not have pagers. As such, there may be times that due to heavy call volume or staff being at meetings, you will get voicemail instead of a live person. Calls will be returned within 24 hours. If leaving a message, please clearly leave your name, number, and department so we can get back to you in a timely manner. |
