Federal/Private Fellowships
The Graduate School supports numerous prestigious fellowships funded by external agencies and organizations. Funding is provided to broad areas of study or research, as determined by the agencies. Eligibility criteria are specific to the particular fellowship competition, but they generally require excellent academic achievements and research proposals, as well as a knowledge of your field's literature. Applications for fellowships are largely due in throughout fall semester; check your program of interest for a specific timeline. Fellows are provided full tuition support during the fellowship, as well as a generous health insurance package. Currently, we support the following fellowship programs:
- ACLS Dissertation Completion Fellowship
- Ford Foundation Fellowship Programs
- Jacob K. Javits Fellowship Program
- National Institutes of Health
- National Physical Science Consortium Fellowship
- National Science Foundation
- Charlotte W. Newcombe Fellowship
There are many other notable fellowship programs that students should consider. Our students have also been successful in winning those listed below:
- AAUW Fellowships
- EPA Star Fellowship
- Gilliam Fellowships
- Hertz Foundation
- NDSEG
- Pew Scholars
- SMART Program
