Graduate School Prospective Applicant System (G-PAS)
The Graduate School Prospective Applicant System (G-PAS) is a searchable database of information that was created to facilitate recruitment of targeted potential applicants to the UW-Madison Graduate School.* It includes information on individuals who have:
- expressed interest in attending the UW-Madison Graduate School by filling out a “yellow card”
- participated in programs that serve qualified targeted students (McNair, SROP, etc.) and/or
- attended certain conferences and recruitment events.
Authorized faculty and staff can use customized keywords and filters to identify potential applicants who are interested in their field, attended a specific event, or meet other criteria. Lists of potential applicants can be forwarded to other faculty and staff who are authorized users.
Recruiters can use an e-mail merge feature (similar to GWIS) that sends each potential applicant a personalized version of a template message. A list of whom has contacted a potential applicant through G-PAS allows multiple recruiters to coordinate their efforts.
To become an authorized user, you must view the G-PAS training video. When you have viewed the entire video, please contact Steve Hahn at smhahn@grad.wisc.edu to acitivate your authorization.
*G-PAS includes data on non-targeted potential applicants and can also be used for general recruiting.
