| Note: Please use the link for the online application found on the department website (www.commarts.wisc.edu) under the Graduate Program heading "Applying". After submitting the online application, you must also send to the Com Arts department two copies of each official transcript, GRE results (we are institution 1846), and a sample of scholarly writing (in English). Three letters of recommendation from academic sources may be submitted either online or as a hard copy mailed directly to the department. International students must also have a current TOEFL or IELTS result. When writing your Reasons for Graduate Study be sure to specify what area you wish to concentrate in since you may apply to only one of these four areas: communication science; film theory and criticism; media and cultural studies; or rhetoric. It is best to submit your Reasons for Graduate school both online and as a separate document when you mail your writing sample. This is our first impression of you as a candidate so be sure to express yourself clearly and avoid typing and spelling errors.
