What's new this year?

The Outside Activity Report form will see some significant changes in response to the new Federal Regulations.

Highlights of the new features of the form and process include:
  • Entities, if you have them, will be automatically imported from your previous OAR.

"Quick-Start" Instructions:

  • Complete a report by April 30, 2013.
  • If you stop before finishing a report, log in again with your NetID to resume your work.
  • Supported browsers include the following:
    • Internet Explorer 6.0 and greater
    • Firefox 3.0 and greater
    • Opera 9.0 and greater
    • Safari 3.0 and greater
    • Chrome 1.0 and greater
    • Konquerer 4.0 and greater

Why do I have to do this?

•  State and University policies require annual reporting of outside activities from:
-   Faculty members, including those with 0% appointments
-   Academic staff members and limited appointees whose campus appointments total 50% or greater
-   Anyone who does not fall into the previous two categories but is listed on either a federal grant or a human subjects protocol, including graduate students

•  Federal policies require the University to eliminate, minimize, or manage any potential or actual conflicts of interest between an investigator's federally-funded research and significant financial interests that might reasonably appear to affect, or be affected by, the federally-funded work.
