To make progress toward a graduate degree, students must meet the Graduate School requirements in addition to the requirements of the department or program. See Graduate School degree requirements.

If the GPA falls below 3.5 in any given semester, the cumulative average must be 3.5 by the end of the following full-time semester.   • At least one substantial course contribution written in German is required each year during a student's course work (paper or exam).

  • At least one substantial course contribution written in German is required each year during a student's course work (paper or exam).
  • Candidates must possess a reading knowledge of at least one other foreign language in addition to German, equivalent to at least four semesters of college work in that language. Contact department for specifics of demonstrating proficiency.
