POLICIES CONCERNING NOMINEES
Eligibility: All beginning level nominees MUST have a PAID application on file in the Graduate School Admissions Office by January 23th, 2009. (Capstone students are not eligible to be nominated). All dissertator level nominees must be currently enrolled or MUST have an application for reentry on file in the Graduate School Admissions Office. Check ISIS/GWIS before nominating your candidates. Only students enrolled in PhD and MFA programs are eligible for University Fellowships.
International students are eligible to be nominated for fellowships. For more information see International Student Admissibility.
Guarantee of Admission: A nomination to the fellowship competition constitutes a GUARANTEE of admission by the department if the nominee wins the award.

BEGINNING (students new to the Graduate School, in either Spring 09, Summer 09, or Fall 09.)

GRE scores will be accepted within the last five years.
Admissions will accept TOEFL scores within the last two years.
RESPONSE DATE
Council of Graduate Schools Resolution: The University of Wisconsin-Madison adheres to the CGS Resolution Regarding Graduate Scholars, Fellows, Trainees, and Assistants, which states that students are under no obligation to respond to offers of financial support prior to April 15. To require a response prior to the date would violate the agreement. We ask departments to honor this resolution.
